Historic home, Liberty Hall, will be open for tours ($5). Tickets at door.

 

Recently placed on the VIRGINIA LANDMARKS REGISTER & NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES, Liberty Hall figured prominently in Hunter's Raid and the Battle of Lynchburg during the Civil War. The house features "the piano that saved Lynchburg" along with interpreters in period dress.  No charge to tour grounds where Confederate re-enactors will be stationed.

 

 

 

 

New London Interactive Heritage Forum

Located at the museum. (Staffed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) - Learn about NL history past and present.....individuals, families, properties, historical significance, etc.  Looking for family connections in New London?  We will help you utilize info in our library files.  We welcome receiving info on any NL related topics (old stories, family histories, etc.) for possible inclusion in our library.

 

 

"Thomas Jefferson's Spirit of New London"

 

The FNL batteau will be on display at the museum.  Cap'n Glen and crew will familiarize the public with batteau lore.

 

 

Historic African American Church

            

This ca. 1930 building located in New London village will be open for tours.  A traditional brush arbor service will be held in a wooded area beside the church.  A musical concert will also be presented in the arbor and church.

Also featuring

 

Self guided walking tours of the village with living history interpreters throughout.

 

Historic craftsmen and tradespeople will set up in the village to demonstrate their skills.
